My advice, based on my own experience and drawing style, is just to focus a bit less on the little things. You seem to stress the details, and the things you worry about and work on the most tend to stand out more. Try to make those the things you want the reader to first notice when they see a page.
Well, maybe it'll look better on the final page. Anyways, good work so far, and I hope to see the finished product soon!
The panel's going to be a fourth as big as the download size so it might be okay - I need to find a reference somewhere, though... I'm reading several online comics, but I usually can't remember much about them.
I like your advice. It's something I haven't really thought much about before and it makes me wonder about things. I suppose my goal would be to be able to draw like the first FMA anime, but if you look at screenshots from that, well, they're always at least 5 times more detailed and beautiful as I seem to be able to do. But, things don't stand out much, so maybe the artists that make that stuff are so good at it, they don't have to work on making things looking okay.
(by the way, I think the page this is for is close to halfway done now - although it is the third page and I wanted to revise the first two pages first)

As for your goal of drawing like the first anime, try first by taking screenshots, and copying them. Everybody does it to practice, even the professionals. Practice dooding with that style, experiment a little, and pretty soon you'll get better at it.

Hmm... I've never finished copying an FMA background, though. Perhaps I should see if I can do that... (remembers there's not really a background in this pic) Well, usually backgrounds are much harder than the foreground - and for some reason I picked a big establishing shot for the first two pages of my comic.

As for the movement lines, you got some spiffy advice up there. I'd suggest making them smaller and a little less noticeable also, so it's more subtle. That's how I do it, so it more gives the impression of him turning his head than some lines saying "And now he turns his head!" Does that make sense?

I think there's alerts in my inbox for stuff I haven't read yet, but I'm not sure when I will because I'm taking two classes right now that last until the end of the month. (actually, I'm a week or more behind in one of them because the other has too much stuff to do. >_>" )

Would one of those things you haven't read yet happen to be my fic? X3 I seriously look forward to your reviews (and I'm not kissing up either) You're one of like three people who have ever given me concrit. Most everyone else is like "YAH IT'S AWESOME" not like I don't like that, but I still like to improve.
