I just moved to another house.
About a year ago, my dad had bought a house before saling the one we were living in. He put up the old house for sale, but it didn't seem like people were interested in buying it. After awhile, he ended up with both houses for sale, and... we kind'a got offers for both a day or two apart. So, in the process of selling both houses, and us either not seeing the perfect house (at least that we both agreed on) or otherwise having issues with buying houses we decided on, he ended up buying the next thing that came on market. ...without even inspecting it first. :/
It seems to need a bit of work, and I'd really like to update the electric (super old house, with an old fuse box) and replace the gas stove with an electric one, but it's feeling oddly like home already. (maybe it's just because all my furniture's here)
Here's a rough sketch I made before we closed on it, based on some photos I took and the room dimensions on the listings (some details are off, but it's close):
I want to put wall-to-wall bookcases in my bedroom (the 12'x13' one in the front corner), if I can figure out how to do it. I'd have to have the bookcase closest to the door be just 4" deep, though, since the door is 4" from the wall. It'd be cool, though, since I could put corkboard on the backing and use it for story planning purposes and the such, and could also use it to display movies or other small items.
My computer's in the small study, next to the boxed-in front porch (the study is the room on the bottom of the sketch, between the dining room and the outer door (it has a window left over from an earlier time). I thought it would seem kind'a cramped, as I like large, spacious stuff, but... it's actually not too bad (except that the wood floor seems terribly uneven).
There's tons of large windows all around the house. I realized just a few minutes ago that the view from the dining room actually kind'a reminds me of how my college's library was. When I was going to college, I'd often get a pumpkin latte from the Java City place inside the library and go up to the second floor, where they had a room/hallway area that bridged two buildings. It was a quiet place with comfy seats and large windows where you could look at the scenery from above. The view from this house's dining room kind'a reminds me of it. I'm pondering about pushing two dinning room tables together and putting the chairs just on the far side, facing the windows. It'd make a nice study area.

Vote for a Danny Phantom pic idea for me to draw?
I've been on tumblr a lot lately. Mainly just posting random junk there. Mostly unfinished Danny Phantom ideas. There was this Danny Phantom AU-themed fanzine thing I'd tried applying to draw/write something for, but I hadn't made it. However, I'd thought up a few ideas for that, so I thought I'd go ahead and draw something, just because I want to. ...But which idea should I draw? Anyone on here want to vote for what I'll draw? First pick a number for the idea you think sounds most interesting: A reversed portal AU. What if the portal had fused ectoplasm with the world around Danny instead of Danny himself? Semi-melty walls, townspeople with floating hair and glowing eyes. Danny’s the only one who notices, and, though it freaks him out at times, he can’t mention it to anyone. Everything in town secretes ectoplasmic energy. The higher the level of that energy, the stranger the town becomes. An evil future human-side!Dan AU. In "The Ultimate Enemy" episode, what if it had been
Of old fics and rollerblades
I haven't been doing much art-related stuff for the past several months. I guess I should get back into things... Been thinking about working on some fic ideas, but it's complicated. It's like... "Hm, I think I would like to work on one of my fic ideas." All of my fic ideas: "Me! Pick me!" And then when I finally pick a specific one (and ignore the random stuff that keeps reminding me of my other ideas) and start reacquainting myself with that one fic (looking over my notes, watching some episodes or movie), I end up feeling like it's exhausting work and I stop. (I think, over the past month or so, I had decided to work on a specific fic at least three or four different times without really writing anything for either of them before getting discouraged.) Also, in other news, a few weeks ago I had an idea of buying some rollerblades/inline skates and skating around my neighborhood. I'd kinda just realized that biking and skating counts as exercise, and they're things I had actually
Eclipse, and literature correction
Well, I guess Eclipse is DeviantArt, now. ...I think I'm kind of okay with it now? I donno, now that the old site's gone, I feel semi-excited in a way. New start and all that (probably best to think of Eclipse as a new website, which has some similarities to dA - less heartbreak that way). Thought I'd try adding a profile picture banner thing, updating my 'about' information, and change my avatar icon (since the old one of Anakin looked kind of fuzzy when blown up on my profile). Also, though when I first tried exploring Eclipse I had trouble figuring out the notifications stuff, now it doesn't seem as complicated. Not sure if something was adjusted or if I'd just figured out what I need to click. But it looks like it's all there, in the same order, now. When clicking 'watch' and then 'all' from the sub menu bar, it shows the first half (watched deviants' deviations, group deviations, journals, polls and status updates), and when clicking the bell it shows the second half (comments
Played with Eclipse a little -- no literature?
So... Since the site's going to switch to Eclipse soon, I downloaded a new browser today and transferred my website favorites, so that I can still use the site after the change. Looks like Eclipse works on the new browser... (and hopefully I'll like this browser.) But when I saw a comment about Sta.Sh Writer not being in Eclipse, I had to check for myself.
...It appears that dA is deleting all of its text editors...? I can't start a new Sta.Sh Writer draft, I can't edit lit deviations with the plain text editor, and when I try clicking to write a new literature deviation, it just takes me to a blank screen and won't let me format the text (e
