This is for the Disney-club's All Grown Up contest. (Bonus: +5 career path)
It's a grown up version of Dhandi from the Aladdin TV series (I never know how to spell her name: Dhandi, Dandhi, Dandi?). She was only in two episodes, but she was paired with Genie’s girlfriend, Eden, so she’s more memorable than most of the Aladdin kids. I think Dhandi and Eden look pretty similar, like they were thought up as two pieces of a whole. So I think Dhandi would look quite a bit like Eden when she grows up, but I also wanted to keep a... not-girly look about her. (I had also considered mixing up her colors a bit, having her dress be red with yellow trim, instead of orange with yellow trim—but then I thought it looked pretty good the original way after I shaded everything. And I was going to do something slightly different with her hair, but ended up liking it with her original hairstyle more.)
Dhandi would grow up to do what any normal level-headed, logical, brilliant girl who grew up surrounded by magic but without any herself would do: she studies magic.
She doesn’t do magic, she’s kind’a like an archeologist or historian or scientist or something. Like, maybe a magialogist—she studies magic and magical artifacts. She’d be the go-to person when you're stuck in yet another magical situation, or want to know how genie magic would react with a specific type of magic. She probably started out with Iago’s input (and Jafar’s library), as Iago knows the most about magic in the series, but her research would go deeper. She knows more than most (if not all) magic users about how things work (the math/science of things, the whole rather than the specifics of one part). And, this is a field sorely lacking in Aladdin, as no one's ever sure how different magics will react with each other. Genie and Iago have heard of different magical items or places, but they don't know much besides a small passage in a book. Magic users don't study other forms of magic, after all.
She’s still with Eden, of course (they’re together for life, after all), but the relationship has morphed from surrogate mother to best friend or sister.
The idea for the pic was that she's walking through this cave that's related to magic (probably some old, near-forgotten form of magic), and is looking at some glowing writing that's all over the walls that talks about it.—It's fascinating.
